As a die hard sunless tanner user, I've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. You can call me a self-tanner aficionado because I've tried just about every foam, drops, spray, that's out there. Tanners can be intimidating. Especially if you've had a bad experience before. We are painfully aware of how embarrassing it is when your palms are orange, your legs are flaky, or you feel like you smell like burnt popcorn. That's why we worked on this natural self-tanning mousse for literally over two years to get it right.
Shower, shave, dry brush, body scrub. Do whatever you do to exfoliate the day before you want your tan.
You really don't need a mitt. Tbh, they just get in the way and make it harder to spread the foam evenly. Shake the bottle well and pump the foam directly onto your body. Rub in sweeping motions from head to toe.
Your tan will take about 4 to 6 hours to develop. Do not shower or go swimming before then! If you get wet, your tan will wash off before it has a chance to develop. Ideally, apply in the evening and allow to set over night. If you're worried about the color begin too dark, go ahead and shower at 6 hours. You can always apply more later.
Moisturizing is key! Apply lotion at least once a day to extend your tan. Your color won't ever get flaky, but if your skin is dry it will start to fade faster.
If you want a solid base tan, keep applying every few days. Your tan is buildable and it's easy to maintain. Unlike other tanners that only last a certain amount of time and you have to fully exfoliate to get it off, this healthy self-tanner can go on forever.
This tanner dries pretty fast and it doesn't transfer onto clothes. However, we do recommend wearing something loose if you're getting dressed right away.
If you're taking a lot of hot baths or spending time in the hot tub, you may lose your tan. Hot water dries out your skin so limit your time in the jacuzzi or just be prepared to reapply more frequently. Working out and sweating won't ruin your tan though so don't skip your spin class!
The foam does go on clear but it blends very easily so don't worry about it coming out uneven. I have never had streaks or even discolored palms. It's that good!
