How to throw the ultimate Galentine's Day party for your besties.
Champagne brunch with bottomless mimosas. Wine night with a delectable cheese board. Cosmos for your clique to channel Sex and The City. It doesn’t matter if you're taken or single, throwing a Galentine’s soiree is the sweetest way to make sure your girlfriends feel the love instead of being left lonely.
Galentine’s Day, founded by Leslie Knope of “Parks and Recreation” in 2010, falls on the eve of Valentine’s Day (or February 13th) every year. It’s a time to celebrate the ladies in our lives and show our besties how much we love them. We honor our gals with the classy consumption of champagne, martinis, mocktails, or an ever elegant bottle of wine (or two, or three).
How-to throw the ultimate bash for your babes
Choose a theme. Get dolled up or dress down. Putting on a sexy dress with extra time for your hair and makeup always makes a girl feel good (and think of the pictures!) But maybe a comfy night of pajamas and pizza sounds better.
Make a list of your closest girls and keep it intimate. Send a text, e-vite, whatever floats your boat. Just make sure they're on board with the theme.
Pick a signature cocktail (or mocktail). Love My Ladies Berry Much is made with prosecco and raspberry juice and is the perfect girly bubbly for your babes.
Prepare the menu and make it heart shaded. Pizza, popcorn, sushi, there has to be chocolate. Think of cute ways you can draw cute hearts or arrange heart shaped hours devours on a platter.
The entertainment. A movie marathon or cards against humanity. Accompanied by face masks or at home pedicures. Think of the perfect combination of activities to ensure your guests are totally relaxed.
Party favors. Make it a night you're besties will continue to enjoy. Little pink bags with bath salts and travel-sized nontoxic beauy products you know they'll love.
Galentine's Must Watch Movies: Bridesmaids, Mean Girls, Clueless, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Steel Magnolias, The First Wive's Club. We recommend pairing a tearjerker with a classic comedy for all the feels.
